Eligibility requirements

We welcome applications from both permanent and non-permanent Hong Kong residents who meet the following legal work criteria:

 

  Permanent HK Residents

  • Must be legally permitted to work in Hong Kong.

  • Must hold a valid Permanent Hong Kong Identity Card (HKID).

Non-Permanent HK Residents

  • Work Authorization: Must hold a valid HKID and a valid travel document (passport). You must have explicit written approval from the Hong Kong Immigration Department (e.g., an approved employment visa, or a visa permitting self-employment or business investment, or working holiday visa).

  • Employment Restrictions: You must declare that you are not subject to a restrictive stay. Visitors, students, or holders of an e-visa endorsed with a condition of stay prohibiting employment are not eligible.

  • Dependent Visa Holders:

    • Eligible: You can apply if your sponsor holds Permanent Residency, an Employment/Investment Visa, Talent Schemes, or Unconditional Stay. Your permission to work ends automatically if your sponsor's visa expires or is cancelled.

    • ​Not Eligible: You cannot apply if your sponsor is on a student visa and in Hong Kong solely to study.
